Our Family Portraits!!!

Today's the day!!! We are getting family portraits done by the wonderful Jenn at Darling Photography. I am SO excited and nervous. Seriously (and I can't believe I am saying this) we have never had portraits done as a family yet. I know, I know, sacrilegious. However, after today I can finally say that I completely know how my clients feel when they stand in front of my camera all nervous and excited. And don't even get me started on picking out the wardrobe for this shoot. Holy crap, that was hard.

One more little story before I head out...We had the option of postponing our little shoot today because of the rain. We could have a slot in October instead if we wanted to. Honestly, I never thought twice. I would rather take an umbrella and have pictures in the rain than postpone. You see, we never know what tomorrow will bring. Right now, my family is healthy, happy and most importantly here. Sometimes when you are shooting (ha, ha pun!) for perfection you might miss your opportunity to capture your life as it is right now. So, I ask all of you to take a second and photograph your life as it is right now. And ladies, you must get into the picture too! I don't care if it is a cell picture, film, dslr or a professional that is documenting your life. Just do it! You will thank me later. <3

Update (10.23.14) Here is my favorite image from our shoot!!!

GIVEAWAY!!!! Win a free Glamour/Boudoir Session!!!

Ok, so it's been a while since I've had a contest for a free session. So let's do one! A little back story before I get to the rules of the game.

I honestly can't even tell you how many times I've heard the phrase "I would love to do a Glamour/Boudoir shoot with you if I only weighed less/looked prettier, etc." Trust me, I UNDERSTAND, but it is time to break the cycle of "when I finally weigh less or fit into these particular pants, and live for RIGHT NOW!

For most of you (me included) there is something holding you back from realizing and embracing your fitness vision. For me, it was my bathroom scale. I've been at GEvolution Fitness since April. I am so dang proud of myself and feel stronger and more alive than I have in years. However, as soon as I would get on that scale, all of my hard work would be forgotten. It really didn't matter what the scale said honestly, it wasn't enough. I would toss the scale back into the cabinet and vow to never weigh myself again. Of course that didn't happen and the viscous cycle would continue. Here's the thing though, I never stopped working towards my fitness vision, which was to be stronger. When I finally realized that my bathroom scale was holding me back, I decided to put an end to it. So this is where the rules of the game come in.

To win a Glamour Shoot with me you need to destroy the thing that is holding you back from reaching your fitness vision. Your vision is personal to you and it can be anything you want it to be. Mine is not to lose weight, but to get stronger and the scale was holding me back from being proud of my accomplishment. So, I want you to find that one thing that is holding you back and kill it. It can be those skinny jeans from 1996 that you can't part with because "someday" you will fit into them again. Burn them because really all they are doing is making you feel bad because your body doesn't look like it did in High School. Is it your bathroom scale, like me? Take a shot gun and shoot the ever living *&%$#@# out of it. Whatever it is that is holding you back I want you to ceremoniously destroy, take a picture of it and put it on my FB page along with a description of the item. The best post will win a Glamour photo shoot with me this fall.

Got it? You have until September 1st to do this and post it on Ledgehill's FB page to be eligible to win the session. Also, I'd love it if you shared this with your friends. It's time for us to stop the negative thoughts and actions and replace them with positive. Love yourself for who you are RIGHT NOW and in the process get rid of the things that are holding you back.

So, the other day my bff called to see if I wanted to snuggle a pug puppy for a while. I mean, who can resist that? These little pugs are the cutest and I brought along my camera to capture how small and cuddly they are before they get huge. So.much.fun. If I didn't already have two dogs, one of these little cuties would be coming home with me. :) Oh and they are for sale so if you are interested, give me a call or fire me an email for more information!

Let's get physical...

Ha, ha, now you are all singing Olivia Newton John!! So, a couple of weeks ago I decided to get serious about my health and fitness. My cameras are getting heavier and heavier and after a full day of shooting a wedding, my knees are pretty ticked off with me. I noticed that one of my close friends kept tagging this GEvolution place in her status updates. I looked it up and imagine my surprise when I realized it was in downtown Augusta. Woo Hoo! This place was different though. Really different. Like there aren't rows and rows of elliptical machines and treadmills. No Nautilus or weight machines. What they do have is a unique approach to fitness that combines personalized routines using full body moves with an array of different utensils like medicine balls, kettle bells, ropes, kegs and the biggest tire I have ever seen. It looked just different enough and unique enough to be something I would stick with. Well, needless to say I had my very first workout with Gina today and I feel amazing. I pushed myself to the edge and then pushed a little more. Every time she uttered words of encouragement in my ear I worked a bit harder. Every fist bump made me run a little faster. I'm actually pumped to see what her plan is for Wednesday.

Stay tuned to see more about my journey with GEvolution and the women behind the revolution, Gina LoMonaco.

2012 Favorites

Well, 2012 was an amazing year for me. I graduated with my B.A in Art/Photography, finished my studio space and moved in and had an absolute blast shooting weddings, families, kids and everything in between. I thought it would be great to take a look back at my absolute favorite images from this past year. It was so hard to choose and I could have added a ton more, but these are the ones that I absolutely adore. Without further ado, here are my 2012 favorite images!!!

Call for a Model

So, I recently got to team up with one of my favorite photographers to do a fun practice shoot. I thought it might be fun to make a little contest out of it and draw a name from a hat of potential models to get all dolled up and model for us. My wonderful MUAH (make up and hair) artist Melissa Doody did all of the styling for the lucky winner and we went down to the coast to shoot in an absolutely lovely spec home on the ocean. Talk about incredible!! Angi and I had a blast playing with light and shadow and the wonderful architecture of this amazing home.  Enjoy...

Welcome to the new Ledgehill Photography!!! I decided that since I'm graduating in a week with a degree in Art/Photography that I set up a separate photography business. If you have any questions or need a quote, give me a call.
